Role overview

We are seeking a Junior Cyber Resilience Consultant to support the delivery of cyber resilience services across our SME client base.

This is an entry level, early career role suited to candidates with a strong interest in cyber security and a foundational understanding of the field, whether gained through self study, academic qualifications, or vocational experience. We are looking for individuals who are eager to develop their consultancy skills and build a career in cyber resilience.

You will work alongside senior consultants to support client engagements, develop technical and analytical capabilities, and help organisations move beyond baseline standards such as Cyber Essentials towards more mature resilience posture.

Key responsibilities

Client Delivery Support

  • Assist in delivering cyber resilience engagements
  • Support gap analyses against frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF
  • Help clients understand risks and prioritise remediation actions
  • Contribute to the delivery of CRS programmes for SME clients

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare clear, professional client reports and documentation
  • Analyse security findings and translate them into business-relevant insights
  • Support development of remediation plans and improvement roadmaps

Technical Exposure & Tooling

  • Assist in the use and deployment of cyber security tools such as:
    • Endpoint protection platforms (e.g. SentinelOne, Sophos)
    • Monitoring and SIEM tools
  • Support continuous monitoring and basic threat identification activities
  • Gain hands-on experience configuring and supporting security controls

Internal Contribution

  • Participate in internal capability development and training
  • Contribute to the development of playbooks, templates, and delivery materials
  • Work collaboratively within a growing consultancy environment

Candidate requirements

Essential

  • A foundation in cyber security, information security, technology, or a related area, gained through one or more of the following routes:
    • Degree, apprenticeship, bootcamp, or vocational qualification
    • Recognised cyber certifications
    • Self-directed learning, labs, projects, home networks, CTFs, or portfolio work
    • Career-change or reskilling experience
    • Demonstrable equivalent practical experience
  • Strong interest in cyber resilience and consultancy
  • Willingness to work from the Cheltenham office regularly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

Desirable

  • Basic awareness of frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or Cyber Essentials
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 / Azure security tooling
  • Basic knowledge of endpoint security or monitoring tools
  • Internship, placement, or hands-on experience in cyber security
